📚 Cognition of the Book’s Big Idea:
Nothing is set in stone. Your habits, mindset, and personality traits are adaptable and subject to change. Once you comprehend this, your life can begin to improve. To aid in this transition, apply the five-second rule, a simple tool that allows you to adjust your "default" reactions by counting down from five. By altering our decision-making processes, this seemingly insignificant act can have a significant impact on who we are, how we feel, and what we accomplish in life.
Reframe your anxiety as excitement.
Next time you're apprehensive about something, like a job interview or speaking in public, don't tell yourself to "calm down." Instead, exclaim, "I'm excited!" Anxiety is a condition of physiological arousal that may be turned around to be positive rather than allowing fear to drag you in. Telling yourself you're excited provides a valid positive alternative that allows you to maintain control.
